Fly a Classic Twin
We operate one of the most popular twin-engine aircraft ever built, the Piper PA-23 Apache. The multi-engine rating is an add-on to your existing pilot certificate. Training is short and focused, centered on how a twin performs and, most importantly, how to handle an engine failure safely.
- Systems and performance: how twin-engine airplanes are built and how they perform.
- Engine-out procedures: recognize, respond to, and fly the airplane with one engine inoperative.
- Vmc and asymmetric thrust: understand the aerodynamics behind minimum control speed.
- Checkride readiness: prepare for the oral exam and flight test.
Requirements to Begin
You’ll build on the certificate you already hold.
- Certificate: a private pilot certificate or higher.
- Medical: a current FAA medical certificate.
- Training: ground and flight training in a multi-engine airplane from an authorized instructor.
- Test: an oral exam and flight test. There is no separate written test for the add-on rating.

Do I need an instrument rating first?
No. You can add a multi-engine rating to a private pilot certificate. Many commercial students combine the two.
