What do I need to bring for a discovery flight?
Simply show up! Your instructor will handle everything, and you can just sit back and relax. Pictures and videos are welcome throughout the entire flight, and if you want to fly while in cruise, just ask.
Is there a weight limit?
Yes. The Cessna 150 has a weight limit of 200 lbs. The Cessna 172 and Piper Cherokee have a weight limit of 450 lbs, which is enough for a student and one passenger together.
Can I bring a passenger?
In the Cessna 172 and Piper Cherokee, yes. A passenger is an additional cost. The Cessna 150 carries the student only.
What is the Future Pilot Package?
It’s a $250 package that includes a 1-hour flight, a t-shirt, a hardcover logbook, and a lanyard. It makes a great gift.
How long is the flight?
A standard discovery flight is 30 minutes in the Cessna 150, Cessna 172, or Piper Cherokee. You can add an extra 30 minutes for $65 if you’d like more time in the air. The Future Pilot Package includes a standard 1-hour flight.
Is a discovery flight a scenic tour?
No. Discovery flights are an educational experience where you learn about flying and take the controls. They are not aerial tours or transportation.
